Sign up, link Steam, play 5 placement matches on a Hotspawn server. Friday's recalculation drops you onto the ladder — then start climbing.
You can challenge anyone within ±300 rating of you — above or below. No sniping the summit from the basement.
At most 3 outgoing challenges open at once. Spend them wisely; cancelling frees a slot.
Defenders have 48 hours to accept, counter-propose or decline before the challenge expires.
Confirmed matches must be scheduled inside a 7-day window from the challenge being issued.
Declining a valid challenge costs −10 rating. No-shows forfeit the match as a walkover for the opponent.
Fewer than 2 matches in 7 days marks you inactive — then −10 rating for every further idle day, floored at 1000.
Each result moves your rating by a points multiplier (the “K” value). Your first 5 matches use a high ×50 so you find your level fast, then it settles to the standard ×32, and ×16 once you pass 1500.
At season roll your rating carries 50% of its distance back toward 1000. In 2v2, captains issue and accept for the team.
